Biography of Reena Rani
Reena Rani draws upon her decade worth of Civil and Criminal courtroom and litigation experience to zealously represent clients throughout New York City (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Staten Island), Long Island and Westchester. Ms. Rani began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. As assistant District Attorney, she handled the prosecution of misdemeanor and felony cases, she presented serious felony cases to the Grand Jury for indictment, including but not limited to homicides, shootings, stabbings, robberies, burglaries, assaults, driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs (DUI), drug and gun possession cases. In addition, Ms. Rani handled several high profile media cases.
After leaving the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Rani served as Associate Counsel for the largest municipal health care organization in the U.S—New York City Health and Hospital Corporation (HHC) where she defended healthcare practitioners and medical facilities in high exposure medical malpractice cases. Subsequently, Ms. Rani became in-house counsel for GEICO where she handled and defended personal injury cases from inception to jury trials.
Immediately prior to joining Singh & Rani LLP, Ms. Rani was an associate at Finder Novick Kerrigan LLP, where she represented cooperative and condominium boards addressing the myriad issues involved in the day-to-day operation of these complex entities. She also has experience in advising condominium and cooperative boards, shareholders, and unit owners concerning the interpretation and implementation of governing documents (cooperative proprietary leases and by-laws; condominium declaration and by-laws). Ms. Rani continues to act as Of Counsel to Finder Novick Kerrigan LLP relating to their practice of providing counsel to cooperative and condominium boards, construction issues and landlord-tenant matters.
At Singh & Rani LLP, Ms. Rani handles personal injury, medical malpractice, criminal defense and administrative proceedings before the Environmental Control Board, the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings and defense of violations issued by various agencies of the City of New York. Ms. Rani has an extensive bench and jury trial experience in Criminal Court, Civil Court and New York State Supreme Court. Ms. Rani continues to build on these experiences while providing exceptional legal services to her clients.
